choosing the right off road wheel for your van, truck, cuv vehicle. A truck, a van, and a crossover vehicle all out in the off road terrain.

Choosing the Right Off-Road Wheels for Your Build: Trucks, CUVs, and Vans

Not all wheels work with all vehicles. This comprehensive guide matches our wide range of wheels to CUVs, Trucks, and Vans.

There is a general understanding that different vehicle makes require different wheel solutions. Every vehicle has its own unique flair. Every wheel has its own intended use case. Especially so within the off roading scene, where wheel and vehicle compatibility is completely essential.

The wheel requirements for a CUV are vastly different from those needed on an adventure van. What performs on your truck simply won’t handle the demands of a fully loaded overland rig. This guide explores our curated wheel selection here at REIKA, matching specific designs to trucks, crossovers, and vans based on their unique performance needs and load requirements.

Trucks: Built for the Intensity

Trucks are made for intense travels. Whether you’re towing, hauling gear, or tackling tough trails, your wheels need to hold their own. Load rating matters here, but so does the style and stance.

R35 Rambler

Our R35 Rambler series is a true workhorse featuring lightweight yet durable flow-formed construction with a simulated beadlock style that’s street-legal. A plethora of finishes, the wheel also delivers in the very popular -38 offset for those who want that aggressive stance

That’s not all. A beadlock style was also crafted. The R35B adds true forged beadlock functionality for those dropping tire pressure and heading into rugged terrain. The outer ring design adds strength to the wheel’s outer edge making it more durable, while the knurled bead seats provide improved tire security. Both models feature Machined Clear finishes that not only maintain a bold appearance, but also prevent corrosion with demanding use.

R40 Trooper

Distinctly different from the R35 in design, the R40 Trooper builds on the same philosophy, a wheel designed for off-roaders who want lightweight performance without compromising strength. A flow form wheel through and through, the R40 Trooper is manufactured with premium grade materials to assure lightweight performance and strong terrain navigation.

Available in 17×8.5 and 17×9, with many common bolt pattern fitments for trucks in both a +0 and -12 offset.

R45 Marauder

Setting new benchmarks in off-road wheel design, the R45 Marauder series represents our most advanced engineering achievement. Choose the standard R45 for a simulated beadlock aesthetic with street-friendly functionality, or go with the R45B’s true forged beadlock system for rugged terrain capability.

The forged construction withstands the forces of heavy payload and aggressive off roading. Meanwhile the precision-engineered beadlock ring maintains tire security even when running low pressures. Engineered at the highest level, this is where form meets performance.

CUVs: For the Adventurous

CUVs are versatile vehicles for weekend warriors and daily drivers alike. With the right wheels, they can become trail-ready and built for use out in terrain.

R15 Seeker

Fit for the CUV. Simple, lightweight, and clean. Offered in both 15’’ and 17’’, the Seeker shines through a collection of bright finishes. Fit for every exploration, while maintaining the rugged style for those who wish to off road. The flow form manufacturing allows for both lightweight performance and durability for vehicles that can veer off the beaten path.

R20 Teton

A subtle upgrade in styling and strength, available in Black Machined, Bronze, and Satin Black finishes with both 15″ and 17″ sizing options. Again, with the addition of flow form, the R20 is ideal for CUVs that see a mix of highway and dirt roads. The flow form construction provides enhanced durability without excessive weight.

R25 Detour

The multiple cross-spoke Detour brings an adventurous meshy look to any build and amplifies the build that already is adventurous. It is as at home on the trail as it is on the road. The R25 Detour is made for the crossover crowd that craves versatility, designed to turn heads both on and off-road. Available in 15’’ and 17’’  sizing with +15 and +38 offsets for optimal CUV fitment.

Why Fit Matters More Than Flash

Wheel fitment, construction, and load rating matter just as much as style or looks, if not more. Here’s what to keep in mind:

  • Load Rating: Choose wheels that meet or exceed your vehicle’s Gross Axle Weight Rating. You can usually find it on the door jamb sticker. Take the highest GAWR, divide it by two, and ensure your wheels are rated for at least that.
  • Construction: Cast wheels are affordable and durable. Flow-formed wheels offer enhanced strength without excessive weight. Forged wheels are your best bet for extreme use. Construction absolutely matters.
  • Fitment: Size and offset affect everything from tire clearance to suspension. Make sure it works with your lift, tire size, and fenders.
